Attachment question

Hi,

I have a couple of question about attachments. I know you can see in the Database menu how many attachments are included but do you have any plans to be able to see at a glance which sections or sub-sections have attachments? I have a sample database with a couple dozen sections and found it annoying to have to click on each one to see if it had the attachment. It would save screen space to not have to have the attachments panel open all the time, too.

Also, any chance you could make the attachment icon clickable and show it in bold or in color on the status bar? Hovering to show the title of the attachment would also be useful.

Last question about attachments - when exporting a database the attachments don't get exported. Any plans to change that?

This is a very nice little program - it would be even better if the sections had tabs and tags but the attachment feature is the most important to me at the moment.

Thanks!

You can select any node (with or without attachments), make attachments window visible if not already, change it's view to report (right click menu anywhere inside this windows: View - Report) and show all available attachments in your database (again right click somewhere in att.window - Show All). Maybe undock attachments window, resize and dock it down.

And what should it show if you have 100 attachments in the current section? This icon appears only when current node has attachments.

Actually it exports attachments too. Must work fine. If you can send me (or upload to sendspace.com) that database to test - I'll check.

Sorry not to get back to my question and your reply.

-- Couldn't the left hand hand window have the attachment icon after the section title so you can see at a glance which ones have attachments?

-- I get your point about my icon suggestion. Maybe it would be good to have a toolbar icon that could bring up the all attachments report window?

Also, thanks for looking at the test database I sent. Yes, I expect that there was some language confusion but I would expect an export of the whole database to include the attachments extracted along with everything else. Especially html - the section with the attachmets should have a link to the original attached files.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I look forward to seeing what develops in future versions.
