I'm evaluating notebooks at the moment and yours is one with more potential than most. It would be nice though if it could accommodate easy linking to files on a hard drive or network (not cutting and pasting a URL). Many times I use a notebook page as a control center for projects, linking to various files (soreadsheets, presentations, etc) scattered across a LAN and local hard drive. Likewise, it would be nice to be able to create a link that opens a specific (project) folder (rather than just a single file) on a LAN or hard drive in Windows Explorer.

Yeah. I'm gonna implement it in the version 1.5 (1.4 will be available soon but still without this option)

Try a standard file link (ie. file://drive:/path/filename

It works and will open the specified file using the default program for that file.

Oh and I tried it with a directory and that appears to work fine as well. It opens the directory in Windows Explorer.

(ie. file://c:/Program Files)

Yeah this is a good solution.
In the future there will be an option to attach any files to database.
